D Custom Named One of Three Finalists for Folio’s Ozzie Award

CPC Staff

(DALLAS, Texas, September 19, 2007)— D Custom, the custom media division of D Magazine Partners, has been nominated as one of three finalists for the 2007 Folio’s Ozzie award in the category of Best Use of Digital Imagery for Custom for the “Make a Splash!” feature in the Summer 2007 issue of Sally Beauty. The Eddie and Ozzie Awards recognize excellence in editorial content and magazine design.

“Art director Kelly Murphy and photographer Bode Helm’s work is nothing short of awe-inspiring: a great mix of sexy fashion photography and ‘how’d they do that?’ digital effects. If that feature doesn’t want the reader to get ready for the beach, I don’t know what would. Superb work,” said Todd Johnson, creative director of D Custom.

This year’s competition drew almost 3,000 entries from all categories of magazines, making the Eddies and Ozzies the largest and most inclusive competition in the industry. More than 100 expert judges made up of editors, publishers, creative directors, and webmasters chose the finalists and winners. The Ozzies are open to all magazines—consumer, b-to-b, association, and custom publications—and are organized by topic and market.

This year’s winners will be announced at an awards gala at the Marriott Marquis in New York City on September 23.
