Overview
MacDuff Publishing, a fast-growing custom publishing company based in north Atlanta, is looking for an Executive Editor to manage its portfolio of titles. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Creative/Content, you will assume immediate responsibility for ensuring the company’s magazines exceed the objectives and expectations of both clients and readers.
Since this is a very client focused role, you will have exceptional social skills together with the depth of experience required to build and develop a strong editorial team and editorial systems. The successful applicant will also play a key role in determining editorial and design strategy and direction. It is therefore essential that you have a widespread knowledge of the publishing industry. The role would ideally suit an experienced editor who is ready to take the next step to managing a group of titles.

Responsibilities
Develop editorial strategies and creative brief for all MacDUFF titles.
Manage editorial and production budgets.
Implement editorial systems.
Recruit editorial staff when necessary
Liaise directly with clients to ensure magazines match their marketing objectives.
Qualifications
5 to 10 years experience as a Senior Editor or Managing Editor working for a high-profile publishing company or magazine.
Experience in sports and lifestyle magazines preferred although not
essential.
Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of editorial management, including commissioning, copy editing, art department management.
Solid understanding and knowledge of the latest pre-press requirements and processes.

Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience.
