Account Manager, Custom Communications

Position Summary: We’re looking for a gifted, passionate and experienced account manager to join our team in an important position managing existing projects and client relationships and to play an integral role in the new business effort through the development of content and relationship driven customer communications strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clients with strategic planning support;
  • Develop annual account plans;
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness and R.O.I;
  • Manage and implement research programs to track the above;
  • Ensure efficient co-ordination and delivery of services to client(s), on time, on brief and on budget;
  • Build and maintain relationships across client departments, divisions, group companies;
  • Contribute to and, where necessary, recruit and coordinate dedicated and virtual project teams;
  • Mine and grow existing accounts;
  • Maximize account profitability based on profit margin targets;
  • Contribute to the agency’s new business effort (which could include prospecting, preparing RFPs, taking part in pitches, etc.)
  • Ensure quarterly client reviews/planning meetings are held;
  • Understand the clients business and the sector they operate in;
  • Monitor advertising revenue to ensure targets are met/exceeded;
  • Monitor new developments, products or services in the market place that have the potential to improve the service we provide to our clients or the efficiency of our business.

Experience:  

  • 2+ years of experience in a CRM environment, client or agency side; 2+ years of experience in a marketing services agency or similar; 4+ years of account management experience

Knowledge: 

  • Good all round knowledge of Canadian and US brands and an appreciation of the business environment they operate in; A strong familiarity with Canadian consumers is essential; knowledge of the custom publishing market and bilingualism is advantageous; Strong PC and related software knowledge

  • Customer centric: ability to develop solid long-term customer relationships; A strategic thinker who is capable of hands-on implementation and execution of key marketing strategies with strong project management skills; Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills; Proven success in managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment, including the ability to push many ‘major’ projects forward simultaneously; Strong managerial skills, able to form and utilize virtual teams to their full extent; The ability to travel 20% of the time
